Geysir is silent nowadays, but you’ll enjoy seeing Strokkur instead! Every few minutes, Strokkur erupts, sending cascades of superheated water up to 30 meters into the sky. It’s your chance to get close up for brilliant pictures of a phenomenal natural marvel, feeling the ground tremble beneath your feet as you await the next thrilling eruption. Just remember to stand upwind!
The next stop on our Golden Circle Classic tour is Gullfoss. One of Iceland’s most famous waterfalls, Gullfoss (the “Gold Falls”), is fed by millions of gallons of freezing meltwater from Langjokull, the second-largest glacier in Iceland. The thundering milky-blue waters plunge more than 30 meters down into a steep canyon. That means there’s always shimmering sheets of spray, setting off endless rainbows on sunny days. There are several viewing platforms at different levels, giving you lots of fantastic picture opportunities.

For your comfort: Dress according to weather. In Iceland it is always wise to dress in warm waterproof clothes. Weather changes can be sudden so be prepared for all weather conditions. Waterproof jacket and pants, headwear and gloves, and warm socks/waterproof shoes are recommended.
